Among all essences, this is the essence of spiritual wisdom.
ਸਰਬ ਧਿਆਨ ਮਹਿ ਏਕੁ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥
sarab Dhi-aan meh ayk Dhi-aan.
Among all meditations, meditation on the One Lord is the most sublime.
ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਮਹਿ ਊਤਮ ਧੁਨਾ ॥
har keertan meh ootam Dhunaa.
The Kirtan of the Lord's Praises is the ultimate melody.
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਗਾਇ ਗੁਨਾ ॥੪॥੮॥
naanak gur mil gaa-ay gunaa. ||4||8||
Meeting with the Guru, Nanak sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||4||8||

Of all wisdom, this is the heart of wisdom.
Of all meditations, the finest is meditation on the One.
Of all songs, the highest melody is singing the One's praises.
Nanak says: meeting the Guru, I sing the One's praises.
Among all good things, keeping the One in mind is the heart of them all.
Keeping the One in mind is the heart of all wisdom, and singing the One's praises is the finest music.
