Words That Make You Clean

basant mehlaa 5.
Basant, Fifth Mehl:
jis bolat mukh pavit ho-ay.
Chanting His Name, one's mouth becomes pure.
jis simrat nirmal hai so-ay.
Meditating in remembrance on Him, one's reputation becomes stainless.
jis araaDhay jam kichh na kahai.
Worshipping Him in adoration, one is not tortured by the Messenger of Death.
jis kee sayvaa sabh kichh lahai. ||1||
Serving Him, everything is obtained. ||1||

Remembering the One makes your good name spotless.

Worship the One, and death has no power to frighten you.

Serve the One, and you receive everything.

The words you speak can make you cleaner inside.
The deeper layer

Speaking and remembering the Naam makes you clean inside and brings you everything.

jis bolatt mukh pavitt ho-ay — the Naam purifies speech. jam kichh na kahai — death has nothing to say to the one who worships the One.
