Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The True, Highest One is always new, forever fresh.

By the Guru's grace, I keep saying the One's Naam.

The One is my protector, my mother and my father.

Remembering the One, I am free of sorrow.

Something can be ancient and brand-new at the same time.
The deeper layer

The True One is always fresh and new, and protects you like a mother and a father.

sach parmaysar nit navaa — the True One, always new. prabh rakhvaalay maaee baap — protector, mother and father in one.

A Question to Sit With

What is something old that still feels fresh and new every time you meet it?
