I seek the Sanctuary of the Perfect Guru forever. My True Lord and Master hugs me close in His Embrace. ||1||Pause||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
I meditate on my Master with one mind and one love.
I stay forever in the shelter of the perfect Guru. The True Great One hugs me close.
Turning your whole heart one way can feel like the safest hug.
Keep the One in mind with one heart, and the True One holds you close.
This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad. ik man ik bhaa-ay — single-minded, single-hearted. kanth laa-ay — the True One embraces you close; shelter as tenderness.
