The Ones at Peace

Only those who are imbued with God's Name are judged to be peaceful in this Dark Age of Kali Yuga. ||3||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Only those dyed right through with the color of the One's Naam are counted as living at peace in this hard, restless age.

A heart colored by something good stays peaceful even when the world is loud.
The deeper layer

Those colored through with the Naam are the ones at peace, even in hard times.

Rang raatay means dyed in color, soaked right through. It is a spring picture: a heart dyed the color of the Naam, the One's presence held in mind.

Kal meh sukhee-ay means at peace in the age of Kal. Kali Yuga is the old name for a hard, restless age. Think of a calm kid in a noisy lunchroom, happily reading a book. The noise is all around, but it does not get inside. Loud times cannot steal the calm of someone colored by the Naam.

A Question to Sit With

What keeps you calm when everything around you feels rushed?
