In plain words

Mother, I have found a treasure: the One's Naam!

My mind has stopped its running around, and now it has sat down to rest.

The best kind of rest comes when your mind finally stops chasing.
The deeper layer

Finding the Naam is like finding treasure, and your running mind sits down to rest.

This is the rahaa-o, the pause line, the center of the shabad, and it is a happy shout. Guru Tegh Bahadur speaks to his mother, the way a child runs in to share good news. Maa-ee mai Dhan paa-i-o har naam — Mother, I have found the wealth of the Naam.

And what changed? Man mayro Dhaavan tay chhooti-o — my mind has stopped its running around. Now it sits down and rests. Think of coming home after a long, busy day, dropping your bag and sinking into the sofa. That is how the mind feels when it finds the Naam.

A Question to Sit With

When does your mind finally feel like it can sit down and rest?
