In plain words

The Enchanting One has charmed my mind.

Through the Guru's Word, I have come to know You.

Nanak says: I stand at Your door, longing for You.

Your Naam makes me content. Please pour Your kindness on me.

The Naam is enough; grace is already here, waiting to be received.
The deeper layer

With the Naam, the heart is content, and it still longs at the One's door for kindness.

This is the closing prayer. Mohan mohi lee-aa man mohi — the Enchanting One has captured my heart. Mohan means the one who charms. Through the Guru's Word, Guru Nanak has come to know the One.

Naanak thaadhay chaaheh parabhoo du-aar — Nanak stands at the door, longing. Tayray naam santokhay — Your Naam makes me content. Kirpaa means grace, the One's kindness. He asks for it to pour down. Think of a child waiting at the door for a parent to come home. The love is already there; the child just longs to feel it.

A Question to Sit With

What does it feel like to have enough — to not need one more thing?
