Wherever You Look

ਗੁਰ ਪੂਛਿ ਤੁਮ ਕਰਹੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
gur poochh tum karahu beechaar.
Consult the Guru, reflect and think it over.
ਜਹ ਦੇਖਉ ਤਹ ਸਾਰਿਗਪਾਣਿ ॥੨॥
jah daykh-a-u tah saarigpaan. ||2||
Wherever I look, I see the Lord of the World. ||2||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Ask the Guru, and think it over.

Wherever I look, I see the Lord of the World.

Reflect deeply, and you start seeing the One wherever you look.
The deeper layer

Ask the Guru and think it over, and you see the One wherever you look.

Gur poochh tum karahu beechaar — consult the Guru and reflect. The fruit of that reflection is jah dekhao tah saarigpaan: wherever you look, the One (Lord of the world) is there.

A Question to Sit With

Where might you notice something wonderful if you looked a little more carefully?
