In plain words

There is only One. And the One is found by the True Guru's grace — a gift that is always here, waiting for an open heart.

If a servant runs away when his master is in trouble,

his life will not last long, and he brings shame on his whole family.

Staying loyal when things get hard is what proves your loyalty.
The deeper layer

A helper who stays when things get hard keeps a good name.

Namdev talks about a sayvak, a servant or helper. If the master is in trouble and the helper runs away, his life will not last long, and his whole family feels the shame too.

Think of a friend who only sticks around when things are fun. When you need help, they are gone. Everyone notices. Being true to the One means staying close even when it is hard.

A Question to Sit With

When has it been hard to stick by someone, and you did it anyway?
