Verse 3 of 5

Who Else Would I Ask

ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰਣਾ ਸੁ ਤੇਰੈ ਪਾਸਿ ॥
jo kichh karnaa so tayrai paas.
Whatever is to be done, rests with You.
ਕਿਸੁ ਆਗੈ ਕੀਚੈ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥੨॥
kis aagai keechai ardaas. ||2||
Unto whom should I offer my prayer? ||2||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Whatever is to be done rests with You.

So to whom else should I bring my prayer?

When everything rests in One place, there is only one door worth knocking on.
The deeper layer

All doing rests with the One, so your prayer goes to the One.

Jo kichh karnaa so tayrai paas: whatever is to be done rests with You. Kis aagai keechai ardaas: to whom else should I offer my prayer? The question puts no one down. All doing gathers in the One, so the asking goes there too. Ardaas, prayer, is trust here, like a child who brings every worry to the parent who loves them.

A Question to Sit With

Who do you turn to first when something matters most, and why them?
