In plain words

No high or low class touches the One, no sunshine and no shade.

The One is found in the Guru's shelter, and nowhere else.

Nothing can push the One aside. The One does not come or go.

Stay resting, easily and naturally, in that deep stillness.

The One is beyond every label — and is found in a deep, natural calm.
The deeper layer

The One is beyond every ranking of people, and rests in a deep, natural stillness.

Kabir comes back to the idea that the One is beyond all ranking of people.

abran baran — no caste and caste. The One is beyond all of it. The One is also beyond ghaam and chhaam, sunshine and shade, every pair of opposites. These labels simply do not reach the One.

The One is found in gur kee saam, the shelter of the Guru, the true teaching. The One does not come and go. sunn sahj meh rahi-o samaa-ay — the One rests in sahj, a natural, easy stillness. Think of a pond after the wind stops. In that calm, equality and peace meet.

A Question to Sit With

When do you feel most naturally at ease, without trying to be anything?
