Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

O my tongue, be dyed in the Naam of the One.

Meditate on the One, Har, Har, and be dyed in this brightest, most beautiful color.

The love of the One is a color that soaks all the way through and never washes out.
The deeper layer

Let your tongue be dyed in the Naam, the brightest color there is.

This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad. Namdev asks that his tongue be dyed in the Naam like cloth in a fast, unfading color, surang, the most excellent hue. The doubled Har Har is the tender repeating of a beloved name.

A Question to Sit With

What is a color, or a feeling, that fills you up completely?
