The Golden Cup

ਸੋੁਇਨ ਕਟੋਰੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਭਰੀ ॥
so-in katoree amrit bharee.
Taking the golden cup, Naam Dayv filled it with the ambrosial milk,
ਲੈ ਨਾਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਆਗੈ ਧਰੀ ॥੨॥
lai naamai har aagai Dharee. ||2||
and placed it before the Lord. ||2||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Namdev took a golden cup, filled it with milk as sweet as nectar,

and set it before the One.

Give your best, then trust, and wait with an open heart.
The deeper layer

A gift given with the whole heart is set down and trusted.

So-in katoree amrit bharee: a golden cup filled with amrit, here the milk itself, sweet as nectar. Lai naamai har aagai dharee: Namdev set it before the One.

Think of putting a drawing you made on someone's table and stepping back. You have given your best, and now it is theirs.

A Question to Sit With

What is something you gave your best to and then had to wait on?
