The One Who Set Every Task in Motion

aapay paarbarahm sarisat jin saajee sir sir DhanDhai laa-ay.
The Supreme Lord God Himself created the Universe; He links each and every person to their tasks.
maa-i-aa moh kee-aa jin aapay aapay doojai laa-ay. ||2||
He Himself created love and attachment to Maya; He Himself attaches the mortals to duality. ||2||

In plain words

The Supreme One made the whole world and gives each and every person their own work to do.

The One made the love of Maya, the pull of the world's glitter, and the One also ties people to that second love.

The One set the whole world going and gave each of us our own work.
The deeper layer

Everything comes from the One: the world, each person's work, and even the pull of the world's glitter.

Aapay paarbarahm: the Supreme One alone made srisat, creation. Sir sir dhandhai laa-ay: the One sets each and every head to its task. Maa-i-aa moh: love of Maya, the shine of the world, is also the One's making, and so is the pull toward a second love. Nothing stands outside the One.

A Question to Sit With

What is a task or role that feels like it is yours to do?
