Washed Clean by Truth

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤੀ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਸਬਦੇ ਖੋਈ ॥
an-din bhagat karahi din raatee dubiDhaa sabday kho-ee.
Night and day, he performed devotional worship service, day and night, and through the Shabad, his duality was eradicated.
ਸਦਾ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਚਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਸਚੁ ਵਸਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਸੋਈ ॥੨॥
sadaa nirmal hai jo sach raatay sach vasi-aa man so-ee. ||2||
Those who are imbued with Truth are immaculate and pure; the True Lord abides within their minds. ||2||

In plain words

Night and day he worshipped the One with love, all day and all night, and through the Word his split, two-way mind was wiped away.

Those who are dyed in Truth stay pure and clean forever, and the True One lives in their minds.

Dyed in Truth, you stay clear and clean inside.
The deeper layer

Loving the One day and night melts away the split feeling inside.

Prahlaad loved the One day and night. Through the Shabad, the Word, his dubiDhaa went away. DubiDhaa means being split in two: one part of you wants the One, and another part pulls somewhere else.

Think of trying to watch two shows at once. You end up enjoying neither one. When the heart picks one center, it feels whole again.

Those who are sach raatay, dyed in Truth, stay clean and clear inside. That is because the True One lives right there in their minds.

A Question to Sit With

What helps your mind feel clear instead of cluttered?
