In plain words

Whoever stays free of wanting in the middle of wanting, and rests, unattached, in easy meditation on the One —

Nanak prays: facing the Guru, that one is set free, lovingly tuned to the Naam of the One.

Freedom is wanting things without being owned by them.
The deeper layer

You can stay free in the middle of wanting, with your heart tuned to the Naam.

Rahai udaas aas niraasaa: staying detached in the middle of desire. Sahj dhi-aan: meditation with an easy, natural calm. Liv laagee: lovingly tuned, like a guitar string brought to just the right note.

A Question to Sit With

What's the difference between wanting something and needing to have it?
