Nothing Is Beyond the One

mataa masoorat taaN kichh keejai jay kichh hovai har baahar.
If something were beyond the realm of the Lord's Power, only then would we have recourse to consult someone else.
jo kichh karai so-ee bhal hosee har Dhi-aavahu an-din naam muraar. ||3||
Whatever the Lord does is good. Meditate on the Name of the Lord, night and day. ||3||

In plain words

We would need to go asking others for advice only if something were outside the One's power.

Whatever the One does is good. Remember the Naam of the One, night and day.

Nothing ever falls outside the One's care, so you can hold the Naam in peace.
The deeper layer

Nothing is outside the One's power, so whatever the One does is good.

Guru Ram Das gives a simple piece of logic. Mataa masoorat means asking others for advice. We would only need to do that, he says, if something were outside the One's power. But nothing is.

Think of a small child with a loving parent right there. They don't need to run around asking strangers for help. The parent can handle it.

Jo kichh karai so-ee bhal hosee: whatever the One does will turn out good. So har dhi-aavahu an-din: remember the One day and night. Muraar is another old name for the One.

A Question to Sit With

What worry could you set down, trusting it's held?
