Whatever the One Does Is Whole

har jo kichh karay so aapay aapay oh poochh na kisai karay beechaar.
Whatever the Lord does, He does by Himself. He does not ask or consult anyone else.
naanak so parabh sadaa Dhi-aa-ee-ai jin mayli-aa satgur kirpaa Dhaar. ||4||1||5||
O Nanak, meditate forever on God; granting His Grace, He unites us with the True Guru. ||4||1||5||

In plain words

Whatever the One does, the One does alone, asking no one and checking with no one.

Nanak says: remember that One always, who in kindness brings us to the True Guru.

Whatever the One does is whole and complete on its own.
The deeper layer

Whatever the One does, the One does alone, and in kindness the One brings us to the True Guru.

Har jo kichh karay so aapay: whatever the One does, the One does alone. The One doesn't need to check with anyone or ask for advice.

Think of the sun. It doesn't ask permission to rise. It just rises and gives light to everything.

So what do we do? We trust. Naanak so prabh sadaa dhi-aa-ee-ai: Nanak says, always remember that One. It was the One who, in kirpaa, kindness, brought us to the Satguru, the true Guru.

A Question to Sit With

When did something you couldn't control turn out okay?
