ਏਹੁ ਅਹੇਰਾ ਕੀਨੋ ਦਾਨੁ ॥
ayhu ahayraa keeno daan.
God has given this gift.
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੈ ਘਰਿ ਕੇਵਲ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੪॥੪॥
naanak kai ghar kayval naam. ||4||4||
Nanak's home is filled with the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||4||4||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
This whole catch is a gift from the One.
Nanak says: my home is filled with the Naam alone.
The best things arrive as gifts, not as prizes you win.
The whole catch is a gift, and the home is filled with the Naam alone.
Daan means gift — the whole harvest is grace, received rather than earned, the way Gurprasad is always a gift. The closing line, naanak kai ghar kayval naam, empties the house of everything but the Naam. When the chase ends, only presence remains.
