Verse 4 of 5

Wealth That Behaves Like Wealth

ਰਾਜ ਮਾਲ ਸਾਦਨ ਦਰਬਾਰ ॥
raaj maal saadan darbaar.
It is my domain and empire, wealth, mansion and court.
ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਮ ਪੂਰਨ ਆਚਾਰ ॥੩॥
simrat naam pooran aachaar. ||3||
Meditating in remembrance on the Naam brings perfect conduct. ||3||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The Naam is my kingdom and my empire, my wealth, my mansion and my royal court.

Remembering the Naam makes the way I live whole and good.

Inner wealth shows up in the way you behave.
The deeper layer

The Naam is all the riches you need, and remembering it shapes how you live.

Raaj maal saadan darbaar: empire, wealth, mansion, court. The Naam is all of these, and it brings pooran aachaar, perfect conduct. Inner wealth is known by its fruit: it quietly reshapes how you behave.

A Question to Sit With

How can you tell what someone treasures most?
