A Wonder In Everything Made

ਅਚਰਜੁ ਤੇਰੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਕਦਮ ਸਲਾਹ ॥
achraj tayree kudrat tayray kadam salaah.
Your Creative Power is marvellous, and Your Lotus Feet are admirable.
ਗਨੀਵ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫਤਿ ਸਚੇ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹ ॥੨॥
ganeev tayree sifat sachay paatisaah. ||2||
Your Praise is priceless, O True King. ||2||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Your power that makes the world is a wonder, and Your feet are worthy of praise.

Your praise is priceless, O True King.

Every made thing is a small wonder worth praising.
The deeper layer

Everything the One makes is a wonder, and the One's praise is worth more than any price.

Kudrat is a Persian word for the power that makes things, and for nature itself. The Guru says achraj tayree kudrat: Your making-power is a wonder. He calls the One sachay paatisaah, the True King. Paatisaah is the Persian word for an emperor.

Look closely at one leaf, or a baby's tiny fingers, or a snowflake on a dark glove. Each one is a small miracle. Now think of the One who makes all of them. That is why the praise is ganeev, priceless. No store could ever put a price tag on it.

A Question to Sit With

What ordinary thing, looked at closely, turns out to be amazing?
