ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਅਪਣਾ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਇਆ ॥

The Supreme Lord God has revealed His Innate Nature.
ਦੋਖੀ ਅਪਣਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
dokhee apnaa keetaa paa-i-aa. ||3||
The evil-doer obtains the fruits of his own actions. ||3||

The Highest One has shown the One's own nature, the promise to protect.
The one who does wrong receives the fruit of what he did, as surely as fruit follows from a seed.
The One keeps its nature, and we each gather what we plant.
The One always protects; that is just who the One is.
Paarbarahm apnaa birad paragtaa-i-aa: the Supreme One has shown its birad. Birad means its own nature, like a promise it always keeps. Protection is a constant, like the sun rising every morning.
Dokhee apnaa keetaa paa-i-aa: the one who does wrong receives what they did. It is seed and fruit. Plant a seed, and that is what grows.
