In plain words

When the Supreme One shows mercy, the One takes hold of a person's arm and pulls them up and out of the sickness.

Reaching the Sangat, their bonds break.

Nanak says: the Guru has healed the sickness.

Sometimes healing is simply a hand reaching down to lift you out.
The deeper layer

Mercy reaches down like a hand and lifts you out of the sickness, and in the Sangat the bonds break.

Baah pakarh rogahu kadh la-i-aa: grabbing the arm, the One pulls you out of the sickness, a warm, physical picture of grace. Tootay bandhan saadhsang paa-i-aa: reaching the Sangat — people gathered together to remember the One — the bonds break. Kaho naanak gur rog mitaa-i-aa: the Guru wipes the sickness away. Healing comes as a hand and a community.

A Question to Sit With

Who has reached out a hand when you needed lifting up?
