Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
My place of pilgrimage is the Naam of the One.
The Guru has taught me the heart of wisdom.
You can carry your holy place with you, in your own attention.
Your holy place is the Naam, and you carry it with you.
This is the rahaa-o, the pause line, the center of the shabad. Teerath hamraa har ko naam: my place of pilgrimage is the Naam of the One. A teerath is a holy place people travel to. The Naam travels with you, every day.
Gur updaysi-aa tat gi-aan: the Guru taught me tat gi-aan, the heart of wisdom, the part everything else rests on.
