Verse 5 of 5

One Fills Everything

sabh meh ayk rahi-aa bharpooraa.
The One Lord is totally pervading and permeating all.
so jaapai jis satgur pooraa.
He alone meditates on the Lord, whose True Guru is Perfect.
har keertan taa ko aaDhaar.
Such a person has the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises for his Support.
kaho naanak jis aap da-i-aar. ||4||13||26||
Says Nanak, the Lord Himself is merciful to him. ||4||13||26||

In plain words

The One fills everything, all the way through. Only the one whose True Guru is perfect keeps the One in mind.

Singing the praise of the One is their support. Nanak says: the One Himself is kind to them.

The One fills every place, without a single gap.
The deeper layer

The One fills everything, and the Guru wakes you up to see it.

Sabh meh ayk rahi-aa bharpooraa: the One fills all, through and through. This is Ik Oankaar, the One, said plainly. So jaapai jis satgur pooraa: the one with the perfect True Guru remembers the One.

Har keertan taa ko aadhaar: singing the One's praise holds that person steady. Kaho naanak jis aap da-i-aar: says Nanak, the One Himself is kind to them. Think of sunlight coming through every window of a house at once.

A Question to Sit With

Where have you noticed the same wonder showing up in very different places?
