Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The Naam is my good sign and my good fortune.

The Naam is the fine food that fills me.

The Naam is my good conduct.

The Naam is my clean, honest work.

When your center is right, it flavors everything you do.
The deeper layer

The Naam is good fortune, food that fills, good conduct and honest work.

Sa-un is a good sign, good fortune. Taripat subhog is food that fills you up. Aachaar is good conduct. Bi-uhaar is your work and how you do it.

These are ordinary, everyday things. The Guru traces all of them back to one center. Think of a bicycle wheel. It has many spokes, but they all meet at the hub. Luck, food, behavior and work are the spokes. The Naam is the hub that holds them together.

A Question to Sit With

How might one good habit quietly improve many other parts of your day?
