ਜੋ ਇਛੈ ਸੋਈ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਏ ॥

ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਏ ॥
har kaa naam man vasaa-ay.
when the Name of the Lord comes to dwell in the mind.
ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣ ਰਹੇ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇ ॥
aavan jaan rahay har Dhi-aa-ay.
Meditating on the Lord, your comings and goings cease.
ਭਗਤਿ ਭਾਇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥੨॥
bhagat bhaa-ay parabh kee liv laa-ay. ||2||
Through loving devotional worship, lovingly focus your attention on God. ||2||

You receive what you wish for, when the Naam of the One comes to live in your mind.
Remembering the One, your comings and goings, birth after birth, come to an end.
With loving devotion, keep your attention on the One.
When your center is settled, your restlessness quiets.
When the Naam lives in your mind, your heart's wish comes, and the restless coming and going ends.
Jo ichhai so-ee fal paa-ay: you receive the fruit you wish for. With the Naam inside, the wish itself changes shape. Aavan jaan rahay: comings and goings stop, the round of being born and dying, and the restless running of the mind. Liv: a steady, loving attention.
