Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

I have found peace, calm, and more joy than I can count.

In the Sangat my fears and doubts are gone. My tongue sings the sweet Naam of the One, Har, Har.

Fear and doubt melt where people gather to remember the One.
The deeper layer

Peace and calm come in the Sangat, where fear and doubt melt and the sweet Naam is on your tongue.

This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad. Sookh sahj aanand ghanay: peace, calm, and joy in plenty. Saadhsang is the Sangat — people gathered together to remember the One. There bhai bharmaa, fear and doubt, are wiped away. Amrit har har rasan bhanay: the tongue sings the Naam, sweet as nectar.

Think of a night when you are scared of a storm, and then your family sits down together in one room. The thunder is the same, but the fear is gone.

A Question to Sit With

When has being with the right people made your worries feel smaller?
