In plain words

Tearing the pillar open, the One appeared.

The proud demon-king was struck down and brought to an end.

The hearts of the devotees filled with joy, and happy wishes poured in.

The One gave the One's servant great honor.

When cruelty grows from pride, love arriving is enough to undo it.
The deeper layer

The One comes to protect the devotee, and pride comes to its end.

Thamh upaarh har aap dikhaa-i-aa: tearing the pillar open, the One appears. In the older story this is Narsingh, the man-lion form. Ahankaaree dait maar pachaa-i-aa: the proud demon-king is struck down. His cruelty grew from pride, and it ends with him.

Bhagtaa man aanand vajee vadhaa-ee: joy fills the devotees, like a whole town cheering when a lost child comes home safe. Apnay sayvak ka-o day vadi-aa-ee: the One honors the servant.

A Question to Sit With

When has kindness or courage quietly undone something that seemed frightening?
