Death cannot even touch Your humble, holy people. Not one tiny bit of pain or sorrow reaches them.
Those who come into Your shelter cross over themselves, and carry all their family line across with them.
People who rest in the One are not ruled by the fear of endings.
Sant janaa ka-o jam johi na saakai — jam is the messenger of death in old stories. Here it stands for the fear of endings. That fear cannot even look at the sant janaa, the peaceful, good-hearted ones. Ratee anch dookh na laa-ee — not one tiny bit of dread reaches them.
Aap tareh saglay kul taareh — those who take shelter in the One cross over, and carry their whole family line with them. Think of a candle lit in a dark room. It does not only light itself. It lights up everyone sitting around it. Grace spreads outward from one heart to many.
How does one calm person help everyone around them feel calmer too?
