A Throne No One Can Shake

jis naam ridai tis nihchal aasan.
One who keeps the Naam in his heart has a permanent position.
jis naam ridai tis takhat nivaasan.
One who keeps the Naam in his heart is seated on the throne.
jis naam ridai so saachaa saahu.
One who keeps the Naam in his heart is the true king.
naamheen naahee pat vaysaahu. ||5||
Without the Naam, no one has any honor or respect. ||5||

In plain words

The one who keeps the Naam in their heart has a seat that nothing can shake.

The one who keeps the Naam in their heart sits on a throne.

The one who keeps the Naam in their heart is the true king.

Without the Naam, there is no honor and no trust.

Worth that rests inside you cannot be knocked over by anyone else's opinion.
The deeper layer

The Naam gives you a place to stand that nothing can shake.

Jis naam ridai tis nihchal aasan — the one with the Naam in the heart has a nihchal aasan, a seat that cannot be shaken. Tis takhat nivaasan — they sit on a throne. So saachaa saahu — they are the true king.

Picture a tree with deep roots. Storms bend the branches, but the tree stays put. That steadiness comes from being rooted in what is true, whatever other people think of you.

Naamheen naahee pat vaysaahu — without the Naam, there is no lasting honor or trust.

A Question to Sit With
