Bilaaval, Third Mehl:
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਪਾਈ ॥
pooray gur tay vadi-aa-ee paa-ee.
From the Perfect Guru, I have obtained glorious greatness.
ਅਚਿੰਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਆਈ ॥
achint naam vasi-aa man aa-ee.
The Naam, the Name of the Lord, has spontaneously come to abide in my mind.
ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਇਆ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਲਾਈ ॥
ha-umai maa-i-aa sabad jalaa-ee.
Through the Word of the Shabad, I have burnt away egotism and Maya.

dar saachai gur tay sobhaa paa-ee. ||1||
Through the Guru, I have obtained honor in the Court of the True Lord. ||1||

In plain words

From the perfect Guru I received a quiet kind of greatness — nothing to show off, just something real.

The Name came to live in my mind all on its own, and the Word gently burned off the self-important grip of ego and the pull of the world. Facing the True One, honor came to me through the Guru.

Real greatness is quiet, and the Name settles in on its own when we stop striving.
The deeper layer

Vadi-aa-ee here is glory that is inward and quiet, not applause. Achint — spontaneously — signals that the Name settled in without contrivance; the ego (haumai) is burned by the Word, treated as a knot to loosen, not a crime to punish.

A Question to Sit With

What is a quiet kind of greatness that no one else even has to notice?
