Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
I serve the Lord of the whole universe; I have no other work to do.
Night and day my mind is full of joy, and, facing the Guru, I ask only for the joy-giving Naam.
When the One is your true work, there is deep joy and nothing else to chase.
Serve the One, and ask only for the Naam that brings joy.
This is the Rahao. Jagdees sayva-o mai avar na kaajaa — I serve the One and have no other business — is a whole life's priorities in one line. What he asks for is not things but the naam nivaajaa, the Name that itself brings bliss.
A Question to Sit With
If you could ask for just one thing that would make you glad every day, what would it be?
