In plain words

Just seeing You, I feel full and satisfied, as if I have eaten the sweetest food there is.

Nanak says: I hold on to the shelter of Your feet, O One. In Your kindness, keep me in the Sangat.

The right presence can leave you feeling completely full.
The deeper layer

Just seeing the One brings a fullness, like after the best meal ever.

Tripat aghaa-ay — satisfied and full. It comes from darshan, the blessed sight of the One. Amrit har ras bhojan — the sweet food of the One. Amrit means nectar, the drink of life.

Think of the happy, full feeling after a family feast, when nobody wants anything more.

The verse ends with a request that comes back again and again in Gurbani: satsang milaat — keep me in the satsang, the Sangat — people gathered together to remember the One.

A Question to Sit With

What leaves you feeling full in a way food never quite does?
