In plain words

My ego is gone, the voice that always says 'me, mine, my way.' Now I see the One.

I am lost in love for the Master, the helper of the saints. Now I hold tight to His feet.

When the 'me, mine' quiets down, you finally see what was always there.
The deeper layer

When my pride melted, I could see.

It is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the turning point of the shabad. Moree aha jaa-ay — my ego is gone. Ego is the voice inside that keeps saying "me, mine, my way." Darsan paavat hay — and I get the darsan, the sight of the One.

Think of a window fogged up from the inside. Wipe away the fog, and the garden was out there all along.

Naath hee sahaa-ee santnaa — the Master is the helper of the saints. Ab charan gahay — now I hold tight to the One's feet. That means full trust and shelter, not fear. It is like a toddler holding on to a parent's leg in a crowd.

A Question to Sit With

What does it feel like when you stop trying to be right and just let yourself be present?
