People cook up all sorts of plans and schemes, but in the end only what is meant to happen happens.
Everyone reaches for their own good — and yet the One sometimes brings about what we never even thought to ask for, and it turns out right.
We make lots of plans, but in the end, what is meant to happen is what happens.
Saa hovai je baat hovainee — only that will be, which is to be. This is trust in Hukam, the One's will, the way everything flows. It is not giving up. You still plan and try your best.
Everyone wants what is good for themselves. But the verse adds a gentle twist: je mayrai chit na chitainee — the One does what I never even thought of. Often the result is better than the one we planned. Think of a rainy day that cancels a picnic, and you end up having the best board-game afternoon ever.
When has something not going to plan turned out better than what you had wanted?
