Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
O One who takes away fear, be kind and lift up those who have slipped and fallen.
My mistakes are too many to even count -- but I have taken hold of Your support. Nanak says: please give me Your hand and keep me safe.
*No matter how many mistakes, a hand is still held out to lift you.*
bhai bhanjnaa -- destroyer of fear. patit udhaar -- uplifter of the fallen, rendered with warmth. mayray dokh ganay na jaahi becomes honest, empty-handed admission (self-abasement turned to openness). day rakh haath -- give me Your hand.
