Sunday — Woven Through Everything

bilaaval mehlaa 3 vaar sat ghar 10
Bilaaval, Third Mehl, The Seven Days, Tenth House:
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
aadit vaar aad purakh hai so-ee.
Sunday: He, the Lord, is the Primal Being.
aapay vartai avar na ko-ee.
He Himself is the Pervading Lord; there is no other at all.
ot pot jag rahi-aa paro-ee.
Through and through, He is woven into the fabric of the world.
aapay kartaa karai so ho-ee.
Whatever the Creator Himself does, that alone happens.
naam ratay sadaa sukh ho-ee.
Imbued with the Naam, the Name of the Lord, one is forever in peace.
gurmukh virlaa boojhai ko-ee. ||1||
But how rare is the one, who, as Gurmukh, understands this. ||1||

In plain words

There is only One. And the One is found by the True Guru's grace — a gift that is always here, waiting for an open heart.

Sunday. Start the week here: there is one Source that was before everything and runs through everything, like threads woven all the way through a cloth.

Whatever unfolds, unfolds within it -- nothing happens outside of it. And when you carry the One in your heart, a lasting peace settles over you.

Not everyone slows down enough to notice this -- but anyone can.

The same One runs through every thread of everything -- including today.
The deeper layer

aadit vaar, Sunday, opens the Vaar Sat (the poem of the seven weekdays). ot pot -- woven "through and through," warp and weft, into the fabric of the world. As with the Thittee's lunar days, Sunday is not lucky in itself; it is simply another day to notice the One that runs through it. gurmukh virlaa -- rare is the one who understands, rendered so that it reads as an open door, not a closed club: few slow down to notice, but anyone can.

A Question to Sit With

What is one ordinary thing you could look at today and wonder about?
