Monday — Too Vast to Measure

somvaar sach rahi-aa samaa-ay.
Monday: The True Lord is permeating and pervading.
tis kee keemat kahee na jaa-ay.
His value cannot be described.
aakh aakh rahay sabh liv laa-ay.
Talking and speaking about Him, all keep themselves lovingly focused on Him.
jis dayvai tis palai paa-ay.
Devotion falls into the laps of those whom He so blesses.
agam agochar lakhi-aa na jaa-ay.
He is inaccessible and unfathomable; He cannot be seen.
gur kai sabad har rahi-aa samaa-ay. ||2||
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, the Lord is seen to be permeating and pervading everywhere. ||2||

In plain words

Monday. The One fills everything so completely that no one could ever add up how much it is worth -- people have tried to describe it forever and never run out.

You cannot earn it like a prize; the love for it is quietly placed in you, a gift. And though it cannot be seen with your eyes, when the Guru's Word opens you, you start to notice it everywhere at once.

Some things are too big to measure -- you just start noticing them everywhere.
The deeper layer

somvaar, Monday. keemat kahee na jaa-ay -- beyond price, beyond description. jis dayvai tis palai paa-ay -- devotion "falls into the lap" of those so blessed: grace given, not earned. And though agam agochar (beyond reach and grasp), it becomes visible through the Word -- seeing the unseeable once the Teaching opens the eyes.

A Question to Sit With

What is something you love that you could not put a price on?
