Sikhism·Raag Bilaaval·Shabad 163
Verse 4 of 11

From the One, Everything

aykas tay sabh doojaa hoo-aa.
From the One Lord, all others were formed.
ayko vartai avar na bee-aa.
The One Lord is pervading everywhere; there is no other at all.
doojay tay jay ayko jaanai.
Renouncing duality, one comes to know the One Lord.
gur kai sabad har dar neesaanai.
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, one knows the Lord's Door, and His Banner.
satgur bhaytay taa ayko paa-ay.
Meeting the True Guru, one finds the One Lord.
vichahu doojaa thaak rahaa-ay. ||3||
Duality is subdued within. ||3||

In plain words

Everything you see came out of the one Source -- it is the only thing here, with nothing standing apart from it.

When you stop splitting the world into us and them, mine and not-mine, you start to see that single Oneness behind it all. The Guru's Word shows you the way in, and the habit of dividing quietly settles down inside you.

Everything comes from one Source -- so the walls we build between us and them are not as solid as they look.
The deeper layer

aykas tay sabh doojaa hoo-aa -- all "otherness" arose from the One: a direct statement of Ik Onkar, oneness as the only reality. doojaa / doojai bhaa-o -- duality, the habit of dividing; recognizing the One dissolves it. har dar neesaanai -- the Door and its Banner, the marks of arrival, opened through the Word.

A Question to Sit With

Where do you see people drawing lines between us and them that maybe do not need to be there?
