In plain words

My home feels beautiful, the very ground feels lucky — because the One has come into the home of my heart, and I hold on to the Guru's feet.

Holding on there, I wake up calm and steady, and every wish is quietly filled. Through the dust of the saints' feet, my longing is answered, and after feeling far away so long, I feel close again.

Day and night a music of joy plays inside me, and I have set down the stubborn I-know-best. Nanak says: I rest in the shelter of the One, and in the Sangat I lean toward the One with love.

When the One comes into the home of your heart, even the ground feels lucky.
The deeper layer

Bhavan suhaavRaa — the beautiful home; prabh ghar aa-i-aRaa, God entering the home of the heart. Sagal ichhaa punnee: every desire fulfilled. Sant Dhooree — the dust of the saints' feet — is humility and reverence. AhaN mat tiaagee: setting down the stubborn certainty of I-know-best.

Saran su-aamee: the shelter of the Master. Satsang liv laagee: in the Sangat — people gathered together to remember the One — the heart is lovingly tuned to the One.

A Question to Sit With

What makes a place feel like home to you — not the walls, but the feeling?
