Sikhism·Raag Bilaaval·Shabad 172
Verse 3 of 4

What Praise Could Be Enough?

ki-aa gun tayray kahi saka-o parabh antarjaamee raam.
What virtues of Yours can I speak, O God, O Searcher of hearts?
simar simar naaraa-inai bha-ay paargaraamee raam.
Meditating, meditating in remembrance on the Lord, I have crossed over to the other shore.
gun gaavat govind kay sabh ichh pujaamee raam.
Singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe, all my desires are fulfilled.
naanak uDhray jap haray sabhhoo kaa su-aamee raam. ||3||
Nanak is saved, meditating on the Lord, the Lord and Master of all. ||3||

In plain words

What good things could I possibly say about You, One who knows every heart from the inside?

Remembering You again and again, I have crossed over — past what used to overwhelm me. Singing the goodness of the One, every real wish of mine is filled.

Nanak says: I am carried through, keeping the One in mind — the One who belongs to everyone.

Some good is too big to fully praise — you can only keep remembering it.
The deeper layer

Kiaa gun tayray kahi saka-o — what virtues of Yours could I ever tell: awe at the immeasurable. Antarjaamee: the Knower of hearts. Simar simar — remembering again and again — is naam simran, the warm habit of remembering. Paargaraamee: crossed over. Sabhhoo kaa suaamee: the Master of all — the One belongs to everyone.

A Question to Sit With

What good thing in your life is almost too big to put into words?
