The Whole World Calls Me Crazy

ਮੇਰੇ ਬਾਬਾ ਮੈ ਬਉਰਾ ਸਭ ਖਲਕ ਸੈਆਨੀ ਮੈ ਬਉਰਾ ॥
mayray baabaa mai ba-uraa sabh khalak sai-aanee mai ba-uraa.
O my father, I have gone insane; the whole world is sane, and I am insane.
ਮੈ ਬਿਗਰਿਓ ਬਿਗਰੈ ਮਤਿ ਅਉਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
mai bigri-o bigrai mat a-uraa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
I am spoiled; let no one else be spoiled like me. ||1||Pause||

In plain words

O my father — the whole world seems so sensible, and here I am, head over heels for the One. Next to them, I look like the odd one out.

And you know what? I would not trade this happy, crazy love for all their good sense.

Sometimes the "sensible" crowd is the one missing out.
The deeper layer

sabh khalak sai-aanee mai bauraa — the world is clever, I am mad. mai bigrio... mat auraa — a playful self-teasing ("do not get 'spoiled' like me!") that invites you in. The self-teasing is joyful, full of light.

A Question to Sit With

Have you ever loved something so much you did not mind looking a little silly?
