Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
The One is everywhere, filling every person and every place.
Say the Naam with your tongue, and pain will not take hold of you.
The One fills every place — and keeping its Name on your lips takes the sharpness out of the ache.
Presence and practice, side by side: rav rahi-aa prabh sabh meh aapay — the One pervades all — and har jap rasnaa dukh na vi-aapay — chant the Name with the tongue and pain does not take hold. The remembrance is framed warmly and positively; naam on the lips is a comfort, never a chore.
A Question to Sit With
Is there a word, a song, or a name you can say that calms you down? Why do you think it works?
