In plain words

Nanak says: in the Sangat, I have tasted the joy of the One's love.

I have come home; the perfect Guru brought me here.

The Sangat walks you home, to where you belong with the One.
The deeper layer

In the Sangat, the One's love is tasted, and the Guru brings the seeker home.

Saadhsang naanak rang maani-aa means in the Sangat — people gathered together to remember the One — Nanak enjoys the rang, the color of love. Rang means color, and also joy.

Ghar aa-i-aa poorai gur aani-aa means "I have come home; the perfect Guru brought me." Ghar means home. Here it means the true home inside, where we belong with the One.

Think of coming back after a long trip. You open the front door, smell your own house, and your shoulders drop. You are home. That inner homecoming is what the whole shabad has been walking toward.

A Question to Sit With

Where, or with whom, do you feel most like you have come home?
