Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Water your mind with the Naam, the Name of the One, the way you water a little garden.

Day and night, sing the One's praises, like a song you never quite stop singing.

Your mind grows whatever you water — so water it with what is good.
The deeper layer

Your mind is a garden, and the Name is the water.

Man meh sinchahu har har naam — water your mind with the Name. Sinchahu means water it, the way you water plants.

An-din keertan har gun gaam — day and night, sing the One's praises. Keertan is singing the praises of the One. What you water is what grows. Water the weeds, and weeds come up. Water the Name, and goodness grows.

A Question to Sit With

What do you water your mind with most — and is it helping it grow?
