Whoever slanders these homes, is pre-destined by the Creator Lord to be destroyed. ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The Guru has made my hearth and home steady and lasting.

Whoever throws ill-will at these homes, the Creator answers it right there; the harm turns back on itself, and the home stays standing.

A home held by love stands firm, and the ill-will thrown at it falls back on itself.
The deeper layer

The Guru makes the home steady, and ill-will thrown at it falls back on itself. Satgur kar deenay asthir ghar baar — the Guru makes the home lasting and secure. Jo jo nind karai in garihan kee — whoever speaks ill of these homes; the Creator meets that ill-will before it lands, and the home stands firm.

A Question to Sit With

What makes a home feel steady and safe, no matter what is going on outside?
