The Unbreakable Word

naanak daas taa kee sarnaa-ee jaa ko sabad akhand apaar. ||2||9||27||
Slave Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of God; the Word of His Shabad is unbreakable and infinite. ||2||9||27||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Nanak says: I, a humble servant, take shelter in the One, and that shelter holds.

The Word of the One cannot be broken and has no edges; it goes on and on without end.

Some things cannot be broken — the truth you rest in is one of them.
The deeper layer

A shelter holds when what it rests on cannot break. Naanak daas taa kee sarnaa-ee — a humble servant's shelter in the One; jaa ko sabad akhand apaar — whose Word is unbreakable (akhand) and boundless (apaar). A shelter that holds because what it rests on cannot be broken.

A Question to Sit With

What is something in your life that feels unbreakable?
