When your heart rests in the One, the worry about growing older, and about someday passing on, loses its grip. It just cannot frighten you the same way.
It is like drinking something so sweet and filling that you feel completely satisfied — the kind of peace that stays.
The fear of time can lose its grip.
Jaraa maraa nah vi-aapa-ee — old age and death no longer overwhelm the settled heart. Growing older still happens. What drains away is the fear of it.
Think of watching a thunderstorm from a warm room, with someone you love beside you. The storm is the same, but it no longer frightens you.
Then: pee amrit aaghaani-aa — drinking amrit, the sweet nectar of the Name, one is fully satisfied. Gur amar karaa-i-aa — the Guru makes one amar, deathless. That means the fear of endings falls away, and something in you rests beyond it.
What worry gets smaller when you feel calm and safe inside?
