Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Love for the One does something wild: it lets a tiny ant overpower a giant elephant. The small becomes mighty.
Anyone the One takes as their own is handed the gift of fearlessness. Nothing left to be afraid of.
Loving the One makes the small strong and takes fear away.
Aisee bhagat govind kee keet hastee jeetaa means "such is love for the Lord of the world that the ant beats the elephant." Bhagat means loving devotion. Govind is a name for the One who cares for the whole world.
Picture the tiniest kid on the team scoring the winning goal against the biggest players. Size is not what decides it.
Jo jo keeno aapno tis abhai daan deetaa means whoever the One makes their own is given the gift of fearlessness. Abhai means without fear. It is given as a gift, not earned.
Fearlessness is a big theme for the Gurus. The very first lines of Guru Nanak's teaching call the One the Fearless One. Those who belong to the One share in that.
When has caring about something made you braver than you thought you would be?
